The sound system has good performance and sound overall. It may take some practice to use the USB port, but it's easy enough to learn. Note that the unit does not support thumb drives with a capacity of 120 GB, but a 32 GB drive worked fine. It drains power quickly when using 6 C batteries, so using the included plug is recommended for frequent use. Other than these issues, it's a good product for the price.

My favorite feature is the one-button recording of CDs to a USB or thumb drive. The design and placement of the controls are well-thought-out and it doesn't look cheap. The radio station preset programming is easy to do, unlike with some other devices. The battery life is also impressive, especially when using rechargeable batteries. I actually love this product so much that I bought two of them.

This boombox works well and sounds good, but it lacks the power to be used outdoors or in a large space. It's best for use in a room or sitting right next to it. It's smaller than other Riptunes boomboxes I've had in the past, both overall and in speaker size. Another review mentioned that there are only 3 presets, but that's not accurate. It can automatically set up many presets (around 20 or 30), but there are only three favorite preset buttons. For others, you need to scroll through, similar to using a scan button. If you have many stations you often use, that could be inconvenient, but you can always set presets manually. Overall, it's not a big deal.

I purchased this portable player for my iPhone X to listen to MP3 songs. It provides good sound at a reasonable price, although I wish it had treble and bass controls. I decided to try a different unit that was half the cost and had the unique feature of recording CDs to a flash drive, which would provide a similar benefit to a 5 CD player. I purchased it for my dad, who has dementia, and wanted something that could use all his music CDs, be easy for caregivers to use, and not be too expensive. I've found that recording the CDs to a USB flash drive is really easy and fast, although it's a bit strange that you can't hear the music while recording, similar to a computer copying files. You can also plug the flash drive into your computer and play the music from there, which is a cool feature. The unit's navigation for the music/CDs on the flash drive is not userfriendly and would have been better with a remote, but playing the flash drive is easy enough for my purposes. The CD player works well, as does the radio. The sound quality is decent but not amazing - turning on the Bass boost helps to improve it. If you're looking for high-end sound, this unit isn't it, but it's satisfactory for background music. I'm still figuring out some features, but overall I'm happy with my purchase. I plan to buy the Square Trade extended warranty, as I've noticed that the long-term quality of consumer electronics can be questionable due to planned obsolescence.
