The speaker may sound a bit muffled, but it works for a sound machine. There are 28 sound effects to choose from in categories such as fans, white/brown noise, nature sounds, and baby sounds. Some nature sounds were not as good as expected, but there are still plenty of options to choose from. Just keep in mind that you will need a separate USB wall plug.
