I recently purchased a device to play some old tapes from the 1970s that my family recorded while we were living in New Zealand. The tapes were messages we sent to our grandparents back in England. I now own about a dozen of these tapes and wanted to take a trip down memory lane. The device I purchased is just as good and easy to use as the tape player I had back in the 1970s.

My friend and I, both visually impaired and living far apart, keep in touch by recording and passing cassette tapes to each other. I recently purchased a new cassette recorder for my friend, and she says it is working fairly well. She mentioned that the external mic jack does not fit the mic she had, but the internal mic works fine. She also noted that the playback sound is a bit weak, so she needs to turn the volume up. Overall, it seems that this cassette recorder will be suitable for us to stay in touch.

This is a typical you-get-what-you-pay-for buy. The sound quality is mediocre at best (not even good for music, just okay for spoken words) and the build quality is fair at best. But for $20, you can't expect top-of-the-line. It's definitely not a premium product from the 1969-85 era when audio companies were competing to be the best. It's cheap and gets the job done.

My only suggestion is to include the names of the keys (record, eject, rewind, etc.) along with the symbols for easier operation. This information could be included in the instructional booklet. I bought this recorder player in order to listen to old cassette tapes and language tapes. The first one I received didn't work at all, but the company replaced it right away. The replacement is made of cheaper materials than my previous one, being all plastic and made in China. The buttons are not clearly marked for people with poor vision, but they are fairly standard. However, I'm glad that it works, and I appreciate the company for replacing it.

This product hasn't been used in a while, but the sound is still loud and clear. It's easy to use and I use the power cord that comes with it. I also tried it with 4 C batteries and it worked well, but the battery space is very tight. Sometimes the tape sticks a bit and the eject button doesn't always work, but it eventually does. Overall, I'm satisfied with this product.

This recorder is a faithful reproduction of classic cassette recorders from the 1970's. It is compatible with old tapes and has the same vintage sound quality. It comes with an AC adapter, but be sure to check the packaging carefully as it can be easily overlooked.

The cassette recorder I purchased had issues with its automatic stop feature, only stopping on occasion when it was supposed to stop automatically. I returned the unit and exchanged it for the same model, but the replacement also had issues with automatic stop, only stopping in play mode and not for rewind or fast forward. This was not as advertised and I found it to be deceiving. I will not purchase this product again.

I am extremely satisfied with your product and am considering purchasing another one in the future as a backup. I am also planning on buying the Maxell UR cassette tapes as they are difficult to find. Despite having a digital recorder, I find that your cassette recorder offers superior sound quality. I may be considered old-fashioned, but I believe that older technology often provides better sound. It's worth noting that records are making a comeback. Just because something is new doesn't necessarily mean it's better. As a member of a college band, I've found that even my younger professor agrees that the sound (analog, perhaps?) is superior. I don't usually leave reviews, but I've had bad experiences with Jensen recorders in the past. They always seemed to fall apart quickly. So, I decided to try out a Riptunes recorder for playing my cassette music in the car and it was much better quality. After finally throwing out my last Jensen recorder, I decided to get a backup Riptunes recorder just in case. You never know when cassette recorders will stop being made, like how DVD recorders did.

The Telephone Pick-up from Thge4 BAMAR does not work with the recorder as advertised. I purchased them together, but when I tried to use the Telephone Pick-up with the recorder, it didn't record any signal or voice from the three different phones I tested it on. I was hoping to use it for a family history project, but it seems like it won't meet my needs.

This recorder works great and reminds me of the old ones. My Mom really likes it because she struggled with digital recorders. I was able to find some old tapes from my college days for her to use, and they have held up surprisingly well after 30 years. I doubt an SD card would last that long in the garage. Thumbs up for senior-friendly technology!
