I was in need of a new FM/CD dual power boombox for outdoor use and found this unit after doing some research. It's under $100 and has a built-in rechargeable battery that charges while using the cord, along with preset 'EQ' functions for tailored sound output. It also has Bluetooth, AUX, USB, sleep timer, remote, and more. The only issue I have is that it lacks a clip to retain the antenna in its collapsed position for transport. The decision to purchase this player was difficult due to my low vision. I thought my old player was causing the skipping, so I bought this one. It's lighter weight, but the digital screen is impossible to read without a magnifying device. The cord is short and the top barely opens to insert CDs. It's used daily and the skipping was driving me crazy, so I'll keep it. It's not bad overall, but it's tricky to get the CD in. Additionally, when you shut the lid, it starts immediately. I haven't figured out the pause or forward track buttons yet.

I've gotten used to listening to music mainly through streaming, thanks to the ever-advancing and modern times. This has almost made us lose the habit of listening in a more old style manner. That's why, already knowing the company (they make excellent laptop cooling pads), I practically bought this device with my eyes closed. And it doesn't disappoint. It has a minimal but carefully designed and somewhat old-fashioned look. The functions are numerous, ranging from a CD player to USB and AUX inputs, as well as the indispensable FM radio and Bluetooth. The included remote control and rechargeable battery for portable listening are also convenient. I've tested the functions and I love how clean the FM radio sounds. The Bluetooth is also really easy to set up, allowing you to listen to your own music in no time. The only downside might be the radio station selector, which is a bit slow to change, but it doesn't affect its performance. The audio quality is average, but quite satisfying, and most importantly, my old CD collections will make sense again!

However, I was disappointed to find that it would not play one of my favorite older CDs as it kept skipping through the songs. Despite thorough cleaning and checks for scratches, the CD played fine in the car. It seems that the boom box's CD player reads discs differently than the car's player. The stereo integrated audio device is versatile and stands out as a CD player, although this function is rather outdated today. However, the Bluetooth function makes it suitable for use as an external speaker for smartphones. It also has a FM (and AM) radio and a USB port for accessing compatible audio files, as well as an AUX output for connecting other sound sources via cable. It is important to note that it has dual power options, with a rechargeable internal battery.

In terms of appearance, it looks decent when placed on a shelf or desk, but upon closer inspection, the plastic and finishing are not of the highest quality. The display is small and not very convenient to view, and the controls reflect the feeling of being a rather cheaply made item.

The first audio test was with a classical music CD from 30-40 years ago. The sound was clean but the volume was low. Connecting via Bluetooth to a smartphone, the volume was better, but still below expectations. The audio reproduction is decent overall, but a bit flat with low bass and treble. However, the radio had a strong and clear audio, almost as if it was managed by a separate amplifier. It also held the frequencies well indoors, even with the antenna down.

All tests were done with the stereo connected to the power supply. It would have been interesting to evaluate the battery life, but this information was not readily available. In conclusion, it is a stereo that is reminiscent of older models and would appeal to nostalgic individuals. The price is high, but justified by the range of features it offers.

It's become difficult for those of us with a large CD library to find a player that still works with the changes in technology. Many well-respected players are no longer available, but after reading many reviews, I found this little player with some positive notes. It's small but surprisingly has good sound. My only criticism is that the CD door only goes up part way, making it difficult to load the CD. It starts playing as soon as the door is closed, which was unexpected, but manageable. The size and Bluetooth feature of the radio were great, but I had to turn the volume all the way up to hear it. The radio functioned well, but I was disappointed with the sound volume overall.

This boombox does not compare to the boomboxes of the 1980's. It lacks booming sound and has limited volume. You cannot adjust the tone, unlike the real boomboxes of the past. The only good feature is the rechargeable battery. Today's boomboxes do not come close in sound to the vintage boomboxes. It is not right to call today's imitations boomboxes.

I needed a small, easy-to-use CD player and this one is perfect. The sound quality is good for me, but maybe not for an audiophile. It's great for when I can't stream music. The remote works well and the lights can be turned off. My grandchildren like the lights. All the controls are clearly marked and easy to use. I'm very happy with my purchase.
