We have found the thunderstorm setting on this device to be enjoyable. The other nature sounds are also good. The nightlight is not great, but not terrible. We don't use it. The lullaby songs seem to repeat too quickly and the sound becomes annoying. It doesn't change to the next song without hitting a button, so it's not suitable for sleep.

After using this riptunes for almost 3 months, I finally decided to get rid of my old homedics sound devices. They were difficult to hold with one hand, and the sound quality wasn't great. This riptunes is much easier to hold, clean, and operate. The nature sounds are impressive, and it also has a useful light function. The only downside is that it needs to be plugged in, as it doesn't take batteries.

I've been using phone apps for white noise for 8 years, but no matter which app I try, they always turn off multiple times a night and wake me up. The only drawback is that the speaker is on the bottom, but we found a solution by placing it between us to muffle the sound or simply turning it over. We bought this for the nursery to help a nervous toddler staying with us for 2 weeks. The speaker is on the bottom of the unit for some reason, but it still sounds decent. The color-changing light is a nice touch. I really like the variety of sounds and music, and the fact that I can set a timer for it or leave it on all night. When my son was a year old, I bought this sound machine for his room in our one-bedroom apartment to create a better sound barrier. I ended up loving the sound quality even more than our Hatch! It feels like you are at the ocean or hearing crickets outside your door. I liked it so much that I bought a second one for our bedroom when we moved and my son got his own room. Before having a baby in the room, I hated sound machines, but this one changed my mind. Even the Fan or white noise versions are tolerable and I genuinely love the nature sounds. My husband used to use a noisy, mechanical sound machine, but now we are all happy with this one. It's not very big and easy to travel with, and we also have the riptunes travel version for trips. The sound quality is just as good and it has impressive battery life.

I have tested multiple white noise machines and this is one of my favorites. I had to replace a sound machine I loved that got ruined, and the new model of the same item seems to have strange background sounds. I like this one because it offers several options for brown noise and fan sounds with good sound quality - no looping and no strange, creepy background noises like some other machines I've tried. I appreciate the smooth brown noise option for a lower rumble, similar to a real box fan. And there is also a box fan sound option on this device. Sometimes white noise can be too high pitched, but this machine offers great options. I plan to buy a second one to keep in my travel kit.

I bought this noise machine in August 2019 and we still use it every night. We bought another one and use it every night as well, for ourselves and our baby. After several years of daily, all-night use, it does sound a bit quieter at higher levels, but I think that's because it has been dropped on the floor by my kids. I really love this noise machine - it has great volume levels, a wide selection of noises, no noticeable looping, a timer, and a night light option. Our favorite is the white noise, but my kids enjoy the nature and music options during the day sometimes. It has held up really well and I would definitely buy it again. My only small complaint is the loud ding when it reaches the highest volume, which can be disruptive when trying to adjust it after my baby is asleep. It also asked to rate for travel - we do travel with it and use it in hotels/ at family member's houses with no issues, but it would be nice to have a cordless option for cases where an outlet may not be available.

I was a bit unsure about buying this product at first, as I always am with new products. However, I am so happy that I decided to make the purchase. As soon as I switched on the product and heard the rain and thunder, I immediately felt a strong desire to fall asleep right then and there. It was amazing because I wasn't even feeling tired before! I have ADHD and my brain usually never stops, especially at bedtime. But when I turned on the sound of rain and thunder, I fell asleep quickly! This is not something that usually happens to me. I even woke up thinking I was late for work, only to realize that I didn't have to work that day. I did wake up a few times, but every time I heard the rain and thunder, I fell back to sleep almost instantly. The sound is incredibly realistic! I am beyond impressed! I didn't even hear my roommate doing dishes or using the vacuum, and our walls are very thin. I live on a busy road but couldn't even hear the cars before they beeped as they went through the tunnel. Since I work night shifts, I sleep during the day, and this product has made a huge difference in my ability to sleep soundly. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone!

I'm currently expecting my third baby and I've always relied on sound machines for my other kids. They're essential for helping babies stay asleep despite the noise in the house. The sound machines I've used in the past did the job, but I wasn't very impressed with them. I didn't want to spend extra money on a new one, so I just made do with what I had. But for my third baby, I really wanted to find a high-quality sound machine that I could continue to use even after the baby outgrows it. I found that with the Riptunes! The sound quality is amazing, and it has a lot of different sound options. It also looks great and the light function is a nice bonus. With my old sound machines, the sound was scratchy and clearly sounded like a recording, which was annoying to me. But the sounds from this machine are clear and relaxing. After listening to this sound machine for a while, I started to notice strange beeping and other faint sounds in the background. It was distracting at first, but I eventually got used to it and found ways to adjust the volume to minimize the sound artifacts. The campfire sound is particularly bothersome because the crackling is too loud, while the train sound has a slight delay in the transition. It's a shame that the sound machine doesn't have an input jack or USB port for adding custom sounds or using it as a speaker.

I am still very satisfied with this machine after 2 years. I would recommend it over our problematic Hatch and it's even louder than a Dohm. It's our go-to for travel and works really well in my three year old daughter's room. The nightlight feature is a nice touch and the white noise setting is soothing and covers a variety of noises. The design is sleek and the soft-touch buttons are a great detail. The sound is comparable to other machines we've used and I hope it lasts a long time. Highly recommend.

Our son had colic when he was born and would cry every day at 5pm and 8pm. White noise helped soothe him, and we found a YouTube video that worked. However, it became inconvenient always having to use our phone for the white noise. We discovered the Riptunes, which has been a dream. Our son loves it and uses it for every nap and bedtime. The white noise covers up any other sounds in the house. The only downside is that it needs to be plugged in, so it's not very portable. It also shuts off during power outages, causing our son to wake up and cry. Overall, we're very happy with the noise machine and have recommended it to others.

I recently moved into a partly finished community and I have to sleep during the day because of my work schedule. There is ongoing construction, so I had to get a sound machine. I initially bought a cheaper black and shiny one for $19.99, but it stopped working after two months. I then bought the Riptunes for $29.99 and it has been great. I can sleep through loud construction outside my window with the high volume options. It may not be as pretty as my previous one, but it fits with my decor and it works well. The different sound options like waves or heavy rain are a nice touch, but I primarily use the loud AC sound. It is easy to set up and I can see myself using it even after the construction is finished. Great purchase!

The white noise machine is great overall, but I can only give it 4 stars due to the quality of the white noise. It does the job for the most part, but I have noticed various secondary sounds like beeping and humming on both the fan and white noise settings, which can be distracting. I have not tried the nature sounds option yet, so I'm not sure if it has the same issue. My child doesn't seem to be bothered by it, but I have started using ear plugs because I hear the secondary sounds more through the monitor and I'm concerned my child can hear them too. I may reach out to see about a replacement, as I do like the machine but wish it didn't have these secondary sounds.

This device is very sturdy and has a contemporary look. I bought it for the authentic train sound, but it is too heavy and cumbersome for travel. The sound quality is good, but there is a slight humming when the volume is turned down. I initially ordered a smaller one and wish I had kept it. The night light is a nice feature, and the functions are easy to use. However, after using it for a day, only a few sounds are appealing to me. This week, I ordered two white noise machines for my kids. They are easy to operate with dedicated buttons for every feature. The range of sounds is good, but I wish there was a different non-thunder rain sound. My kids love the machines and found them easy to use. My only complaint is that the plug is not flat, so the adapter and usb cable stick out and run into the bedframes. I was very impressed with the quality of this product. It has helped me sleep better, especially when I am traveling. Although I wish it had more sounds and true white noise generation, the features it does have are adequate. It's great for blocking out other sounds when I need to, but it doesn't completely mask sound. I also like the lighting it provides. I would like to see a downloadable database of sounds added, as the current selection is limited. Overall, it's a great little device for the price and would be especially useful for those who live alone and have trouble sleeping due to unfamiliar noises. I didn't realize how many people suffer from constant ringing in their ears, caused by damage to the tiny hair cells in the middle ear. This can happen due to infections, toxins, or loud noises, and I believe my case was caused by a combination of ear infections and cobalt poisoning from a hip implant. My wife works nights and struggles to sleep due to outside noise. We purchased the Riptunes white noise machine as we already have an older model and love it, so we wanted to add a second one to maximize coverage in the bedroom. Other white noise machines she has tried weren't loud enough or had poor sound quality at higher volumes, but the Riptunes doesn't have that issue. It can get extremely loud and drown out most outside noises. The machine has different sound options including different types of fans and white noise. It also has a timer and remembers your settings. The only flaw is that the nightlight is too bright on the regular setting, but this is minor. Overall, I highly recommend this white noise machine to everyone. It's the best one I have ever used. 5/5 stars.

The volume, size, and sound options of this machine are good. It would be better if the sound names were written on the machine instead of using left and right arrows. The sounds will continue to play until you turn off the machine or you can set it to stop after 1, 2, 3, or 4 hours. The night light feature offers soothing color options. Overall, it's neither bad nor great, but it gets the job done and looks appealing. I would feel comfortable giving this item as a gift.

I recently moved into a new apartment and was surprised to find that my neighbor is an aspiring musician. Unfortunately, he isn't very talented and compensates by playing loudly, often at times when others are trying to sleep. I had hoped that my sound machine would drown out the noise, but I should have invested in some noise cancelling earplugs instead.

After a few months of using the sound machine, the sound suddenly stopped working, despite the light still coming on. I tried adjusting the volume and switching to different sounds, but nothing worked. After a day of not working, I tried again and it magically started working. I'm not sure why it stopped or started working again.

The sound machine is decent overall, with slightly lower quality than others on the market. The light feature is a nice touch, although not essential for my own use. It would be beneficial for a child's room. The continuous sound playback and stylish design are the standout features.
