Digitizer malfunction,

I was excited to unbox this vintage style boom box and it definitely gave me some 1980s nostalgia. The bright silver case and shiny chrome trim made it stand out, and it had better sound than other radios I compared it to. However, I was disappointed that the USB port and built-in digitizing features didn't work for me. Despite the manufacturer's promise of customer support, I couldn't get any help. I still found a workaround by connecting it to my computer using a patch cord, but it's only compatible with older computers. On a smaller note, the radio dial pointer was slightly off-center, which was a bit annoying.

The boombox is very loud at maximum volume, which may be too loud for some people with poor hearing unless used outside. It has instructions in English, French, and Spanish, and offers four radio bands: FM, AM, Short Wave 1, and Short Wave 2. The tape deck sounds good, but not as great as a dedicated tape deck from a sound system. It also has a three-band equalizer and a 3.5 mm stereo headphones jack.

The boombox can be powered by 110V/220V AC or 6V DC. However, the DC power cord is not included and the instructions are very small and difficult to read. The image listing the different parts of the boombox is also in black and white, making it hard to distinguish. The numbers for each item on the image are extremely small and difficult to read without a magnifying glass.

Overall, the boombox has additional features such as the ability to play music from a USB drive or SD card, as well as the ability to convert music on cassette tapes to .mp3 format and record tapes. It seems to be suitable for the reviewer's purposes, but they have no other experience to compare it with. Therefore, they cannot recommend or suggest any negative aspects.

I purchased this boombox for a friend who prefers old-school technology over modern streaming. The addition of Bluetooth is a nice touch for when I want to play music from a more current platform. I tested the Bluetooth and radio functions, and they worked perfectly. However, when I tried to use an SD card, I realized that the slot only accepts Micro SD cards, not standard SD cards as the listing suggested. I had to purchase a different card as a result.

I was a bit let down by this item. The FM radio only plays in mono and the quality of recordings from both the radio and tape is poor at 128kbps mono. The sound quality during radio and tape playback is okay, but not as good as the 80s radios it's trying to mimic. Overall, the tape recording quality is average.

The radio worked well for a while, but then suddenly stopped producing sound through the speakers. Despite turning it on, it doesn't produce any sound on any setting. While it looks nice, I believe I received a defective unit. It's now just sitting unused.

The boom box is similar to what I remember from the 1980s, but with added Auxillary, Bluetooth, and USB features. However, recorded content on a flash drive is not compatible with other mp3 players. Additionally, there is no digital display showing the song number being played. Despite these drawbacks, I will use the unit for playing radio, tapes, and other devices through the auxiliary input. I do appreciate the LED lights.
