I bought an old school boombox on Amazon for my brother who loves old school rap. He used to spend Saturdays jamming and practicing breakdancing moves in his Hyundai hatchback with his friends. When he opened the boombox on Facebook Live, he was excited and quickly played a mixtape of his favorite artists. The sound was amazing, and he wished he had some cardboard to breakdance on. Thank you, Amazon!

I am very happy with the Riptunes little boombox. It is nicely designed and well made, and mine did not have any of the issues that other reviewers mentioned. The radio and tape player sound great, and it is lightweight and perfect for indoor use. It may not have thumping bass, but it has inputs for music on a thumb drive or SD card, which I may not use but others may appreciate. The radio has excellent reception and the cassette player/recorder works well. I am pleased to have found an affordable model of this 80's through 90's style boombox.

I absolutely love my Riptunes radio. I mostly use the USB port, Bluetooth streaming, and regular radio, but I haven't tried the tape deck or memory card slot yet. I use it while showering (not inside the shower with me) and when working outside. The sound quality is very impressive, with balanced and clear sound, and it's plenty loud. The weight and build quality are great, and while the chrome plastic is a bit underwhelming, it's not a big issue for me. Overall, I give it a 5-star rating, rounded up from a 4.9

This device is a great option for AM/MW radio listening, offering better performance than average and surpassing popular clones. Its FM capabilities are on par with DSP radios, though it's mono. The SW bands are average, good for casual use but not a replacement for a dedicated shortwave radio. The tape deck and chip recorder/player are functional, with the chip recorder offering stereo recording in 192Kbs WAV. The sound quality is respectable for its size, and the bass knob actually controls bass. The VU meter provides a good idea of the recording level. Overall, it's a solid device for what it is.

The radio served its purpose while my actual boom box was in for repairs. The tweeters don't produce any sound and there's a bass setting but no actual bass. Overall, I can't complain. It looks cool, plays my cassettes, and felt pretty cool once I got the batteries in for portability.

I was looking for a radio/cassette player for my 6-year-old to explore music without giving him a device. This unit is great, with awesome sound and plenty of volume and bass. Many retro units feel cheap but not this one. I also love the Bluetooth speaker feature. It's easy to find tapes on eBay, so we can have a lot of fun with it. I was hesitant about the price, but I'm happy with the purchase.

The tape deck is not portable but looks cool and would be a good addition to an office or second living room. However, the sound quality is mediocre and it requires being powered off and on to resync. It is not suitable for large spaces where loud sound is desired.

I initially had high hopes for this boombox. It looked great and the FM radio and tape player had excellent sound quality. Unfortunately, the USB recording and bass volume functions didn't work. Despite the lack of troubleshooting references, I received helpful and timely support in trying to fix the issues. Ultimately, I was able to return the boombox without any trouble. It's a shame it didn't work out.
