We bought this for the nursery to help a nervous toddler staying with us for 2 weeks. The speaker is on the bottom of the unit for some reason, but it still sounds decent. The color-changing light is a nice touch. I really like the variety of sounds and music, and the fact that I can set a timer for it or leave it on all night. The nervous toddler found it relaxing and was able to sleep through the night with the soft music and light. I highly recommend it!

When my son was a year old, I bought this sound machine for his room in our one-bedroom apartment to create a better sound barrier. I ended up loving the sound quality even more than our Hatch! It feels like you are at the ocean or hearing crickets outside your door. I liked it so much that I bought a second one for our bedroom when we moved and my son got his own room. Before having a baby in the room, I hated sound machines, but this one changed my mind. Even the Fan or white noise versions are tolerable and I genuinely love the nature sounds. My husband used to use a noisy, mechanical sound machine, but now we are all happy with this one. It's not very big and easy to travel with, and we also have the riptunes travel version for trips. The sound quality is just as good and it has impressive battery life.
